Count/Countess is a title that belongs to the high nobility.
In the Middle Ages the title was the lowest possible rank of nobility that allowed independence. A county could theoretically be a sovereign state, similar to a kingdom, just with less prestige to the regent. But more often it was part of a hierarchy of nobles within a larger feudal society.

It ranks lower than [[Marquis]] but higher than [[Viscount]]. It is granted to a certain person by the [[Regent]].

==Requirements==
To become a Count, you don't need to meet any in game mechanical requirements. A Regent can appoint up to 1 Count for each castle the Kingdom owns. The title can also be customized to reflect a regional or roleplay equivalent. The crown icon seen above will remain the same.

==Duties==

kingdoms can decide for themselves wether and which duties or privileges they want to give with the title.
For reference, those may include among others:

* administrative duties
* military duties
* award for exemplary loyalty, efforts for the kingdom's benefit, etc.
* come with a salary
* exemtion from certain laws
